Letter Regarding European Training Requirements

Letter Regarding European Training Requirements

The revised 2026 edition of the European Training Requirement (ETR) for Obstetrics and
Gynaecology was officially launched at a ceremony at the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland
on 11 September 2026. This document received the approval of the European Union of Medical
Specialists (UEMS) and is based on the EBCOG post-graduate curriculum Project for Achieving
Consensus in Training (PACT).
The revision is the result of a 3 year programme of work. It includes significant updates clinical
leadership, as well as simulation training supported by the generous co-funding by the European
Union as part of the GESEA4EU project.
My thanks to the original authors, and to all those who contributed to the revision process,
including members of the Standing Committee on Training and Assessment (SCTA), ENTOG and
EBCOG council members.
We invite you to view the revised European Training Requirement (ETR) for Obstetrics and
Gynaecology on the EBCOG website, available in English and translated into German, Ukrainian,
Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Greek, and French: https://ebcog.eu/pact/ . Printed copies in English

Implementing of our European Training Requirement (ETR) for Obstetrics and Gynaecology
